These two young Interactors are at it again! Here is a note to the Rotary Club of Alliston of their latest accomplishment:

Hope all is well. We sharing this facebook post. Both Irby and I have made this prototype PPE to protect head and neck which was approved by the hospital and is in productions by local volunteers for our frontline healthcare workers who are putting their own lives at risk while fighting tirelessly with the virus. This is our way of thanking them.

Regards,

Amzy and Irby Syed

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT IN THEIR OWN WORDS:

Hey folks, look at our new invention:)

Under our mom's supervision, we have designed and created a comfortable personal protection equipment (PPE) prototype to be worn by our mom and her colleagues and otherhealthcare providers at the hospital. There was a need to protect the frontline healthcare workers' exposure to COVID-19, especially in the area of the head and neck as they treat their patients. This PPE would be very helpful to protect our Physicians, NPs, Nurses, RT, EMS and other frontline healthcare workers in situation like Resuscitationthat required Intubation, in Operating Rooms, in Ambulances, and during certainhigh riskprocedures (AGMP).

This head and neck gear is made of an impermeable material with easy doffing(removal) without the risk of contamination. We followed a "one-size fits all" approach by using elastic around the head and velcro in front for easy removal.

We are glad that our prototype was checked, tried, liked and approved by the hospital.

Under the current difficult conditions, with the COVID-19 pandemic affecting so many individuals and businesses, the members of our club thought about what help we could provide for our community -- especially for our most vulnerable citizens.
Hand Sanitizer -- We purchased 20 gallon jugs of hand sanitizer, which was generously discounted by Heretic Spirits in Collingwood, and delivered a case of four jugs to each of New Tecumseth's four retirement facilities and the Matthews House Hospice.

Rotarian George Scott is pictured here delivering the goods! Thanks George!
